Courses at Good Hope Studies
Available for 16, 20, 25 and 30 lessons. Ideal for students who use English for everyday purposes.
English for work
Recommended for students who need to use English at work or in a business context. An intermediate level or above is required. Elementary and pre-intermediate students who need English for the workplace are advised to book private lessons.
Semi-Intensive & Intensive Courses
Ideal for students who wish to optimise their study time by selecting from our afternoon options for a full day of learning.
As part of our Semi and Intensive English courses, students are able to add two afternoon focus groups to their course. Topics include South African culture, listening and pronunciation, and speaking about current events.
Widely recognised by universities and employers in English-speaking countries. It is also required for emigration to many English-speaking countries. Students can choose to do the Academic English or the General English module.
A computer-based test focussing on academic English that is widely recognised by universities and employers.
Suitable for people who need to improve as quickly as possible, people who wish to focus on specific areas, and people who learn best in a one-to-one environment. The lessons usually start at 9:00. However, they can take place any time between 8:30 and 16:30, Monday to Friday, subject to the availability of teachers and classrooms.
CELTA teacher training
Recommended to anyone who wants to start teaching English as a foreign language.
Our most popular form of accommodation is homestay. Staying with one of our friendly host families gives students a unique insight into the South African lifestyle. Students who prefer to be more independent can choose between single and double rooms in three beautifully decorated residences, all managed and run by Good Hope Studies.
